CMS Integration Requirements for Charging Cabinet OEMs

To integrate Tecell’s CMS with a new charging cabinet OEM, the primary technical requirements include supporting OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 protocols, providing secure API endpoints for communication, and ensuring the hardware meets minimum firmware and network connectivity standards. These elements enable real-time control, monitoring, and data exchange between the charging station and the central management system.

Communication Protocol Compatibility

OEMs must ensure their charging cabinets support OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1, which are the industry-standard communication protocols for EV charging infrastructure. This allows seamless interaction with Tecell’s CMS for functions like remote firmware updates, transaction management, and status reporting. The integration also requires implementing secure WebSocket connections for real-time communication.

Support for both versions ensures backward compatibility with existing installations while enabling access to newer features. OEMs should validate that their hardware and firmware can handle the protocol’s message formats and security requirements, including TLS encryption for data transmission.

Hardware and Network Requirements

The charging cabinet must have reliable network connectivity, either through Ethernet or cellular modules, to maintain consistent communication with Tecell’s cloud-based CMS. This ensures that commands and data are transmitted without delay or interruption. Additionally, the hardware should support secure authentication mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access.

For deployment at scale, OEMs should consider the power and processing capabilities needed to support features like dynamic load balancing and real-time diagnostics. These capabilities help ensure that the charging infrastructure remains responsive and efficient under varying usage conditions.
