
Tecell’s Charge Management System (CMS) prevents duplicate session ID conflicts by monitoring real-time charger communications and maintaining a centralized session registry. When a new session attempts to start with an ID already in use, the system immediately flags the conflict and initiates a resolution process that either assigns a new ID or terminates the conflicting session based on operator-defined rules.
How it works in practice
In a multi-charger network, each charging station sends session data to the CMS via OCPP. The system tracks active session IDs across all connected devices and compares incoming IDs against its registry. If a match is found, the CMS evaluates the session’s status—whether it’s still active, expired, or stale—and applies a resolution strategy. This prevents charging interruptions or billing errors caused by overlapping sessions.
For example, if two chargers in a fleet network attempt to start a session with the same ID due to a communication glitch, the CMS will detect the conflict and either auto-reassign a unique ID or alert the operator to investigate. This ensures that each session is uniquely tracked and accurately billed.
